The most likely cause is one of a few different problems which tend to fall under the generic term "shin splints"!. There are, as I said, a few different things that it could be under this heading, and most of them require nothing more than minor pain killers and a little rest!. If you are absolutely positive that it is the shin bone itself, it is most likely stress fractures!. These are microscopic fractures in the bone that, while somewhat painful, are not a big problem and simply require rest in the vast majority of cases!.!.!.

When I was in the army, shin splints and stress fractures were among the most common complaints and diagnoses for new recruits or any going through intensive training!. We put our bodies through a lot when we are physically active in high impact workouts or other activities!.!.!. Just take a light pain killer for the pain and stay away from the heavy activities for a week or so and allow yourself time to heal!. If it does not improve, get yourself to a doctor and get a professional opinion!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You most likely aren't stretching your shins correctily!. Your shins are made up of two different muscles, the tibialis anterior and the tensor fascia latae/IT band!. The TFL/IT runs from your hip joint area along the side of your legs down to your knees!. Then followed by tibialis anterior which is on the outer side of your leg and goes all the way down the foot!. Have some one do some good compression on your outer leg!. Then sit on the bench at practice, or even at games, and hold your leg out, and just do the ABC's with your foot!. This is very effective and works all the muscles on your leg that attach to your foot, not just the shin!. And go get a massage now and then!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i get that when i get shin splints, go see you dr!. to make sure you don't have this!. i ignored it for a month and woke up one morning with my legs hurting so bad i could barely walk - my dr!. put me on crutches for 6 weeks!. it could be anything, but rule out anything that could damage your bones or muscles before you permanently damage them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Perhaps it is as simple as you need better shoes!. Most kids/tweens shoes have a flat insole which provide no support!. You can start with some Dr Scholls and see if that is all you need!. When they hurt, rub them vigourosly with a good amount of squeezing!. It usually helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

put ice on them and get some icy hot cream or icy hot patches and try not to do the things that make your shins hurt for a few days!.!.if this doesn't help then go to a doctor and get it checked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if its a stinging feeling its cause your not putting enough shock or you dont have energy, if its a sore feeling its probably because your building muscle, but most likely the first one :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

could be shin splints i had them when i was in high school!.
