Question: Ok so I got my girlfriends industrial pierced three and a half weeks ago, infected/irritated!?
It has swelling right around the wounds areas and it looks pain but she says it isn't I know I don't take it out besides sea salts soaks and all the "DUH" stuff any Ideas guys!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Symptoms of infection will include- drainage of pus, warmth around the area, swollen, pink-red color!. If the infection gets bad she may also exhibit a fever and chills!. From what you're saying it sounds like shes in the early stages of infection, especially because an swelling should have gone down by now!. If she begins to have anymore symptoms then the current ones she has then I'd take it out for sure!!! Also, It would hurt to have the person who pierced it to take a look and get there thought on the situation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had alot of trouble with the weight of the metal bar with my conch pericings, and i also had swelling and redness around the wounds!.
What i did was replaced the metal bars with plastic (flexy safe) jewelery!. I really belive this helped mine to heal up!.
Also, if you are not familiar with the LITFA method I would highly recomend it!.
"Leave It The **** Alone" it is so true of piercings!. Ive got over 20 and the only one I had to take out due to infection was one that I 'cleaned' every day!. Only rinse it in the shower, and try to not get shampoo or other cleaning agents on it, it sould start to calmn down in a few weeks!
