All of the pain of my ear infection is gone, should I still go to the doctor?!

Question: All of the pain of my ear infection is gone, should I still go to the doctor!?
Answers:
You don't give any details of the situation, so it's hard to say!.

Depends on a few things!. If you have any drainage at all, pain, or any fever (take your temp, don't guess) then yes you should go to the Dr!.
Why do think, or how do you know you had an ear infection to begin with!?
Are you a swimmer!? Too much water left in your ear can cause infections!. I make a combination of vinegar and peroxide (like Swim Ear, but cheaper) and use after each swim!.

Also, it could be another condition besides an infection!. My niece ended up having a weird ear polyp that caused her no pain, but needed to be removed!.

You could have a foreign body in there; something that got in, and your body reacted to it (infection)!. It could still be in there!.

Lot's of possibilities, but without details it's hard to say!. I would go to a Dr!. It's like your eyes, you don't mess around with your ears!. Too important!.

PS Don't ever, ever stick anything in your ears!. Not even Q-tips!. This is a major cause of eardrum ruptures and ear infections!. There is wax (cerumen) in your ears for a reason!. Just clean them as you do the rest of your body, and make sure and dry well!.

The Dr said my neice's condition was due to her mom 'cleaning' her ears!. It makes tiny pinpoints holes in the eardrum, the barrier from the outer ear to the inner ear, which allows skin (or anything else) to get in!.
Skin cells multiply naturally!. This causes a bigger and bigger 'ball'!. This leads to needing major surgery, and can cause hearing damage!.

Hope it helps!. Good luck and use your best judgement!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think so because the last thing you want is it comming back worse, the infection may not have gone and if so it will be back, unless your doctor has already given you something to take and it has cleared up because you have finished you medication!? I suggest using ear candles instead of cleaning your ears with cleaners as really all your doing is pushing more in than you get out which can lead to ear infections!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should so they can check your ear to make sure all of the infection is gone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
