I have trouble falling asleep. Please help me, it's the new term here!?!

Question: I have trouble falling asleep!. Please help me, it's the new term here!!?
I'm 11!. I don't watch TV or anything or stay on the computer much!. I limit myself until 7:30 then go to bed!. I lie in bed tossing and turning and can't fall asleep!. I'd fall asleep maybe around 9, then wake up at 10:30 to go to the bathroom, then stay awake until 2 am!. I really need help!. Is this serious!? My mom says my body is having a hard time adjusting after many sleepless nights because of practices for our ice show!. But the new term has started, and I really need sleep!. I should wake up at 4:30 am, that gives me enough time to get ready then we leave at 5:30!. I've tried warm milk, but it doesn't help much!. I was up counting until 2 361 last night!. Mom says not to count, because it makes my mind active and the more I won't be able to sleep!. I take a bath at 6:00 pm!. What should I do!? Should I see a doctor about this!? My mom is getting annoyed because I always come into her room and try to sleep in her bed!. It didn't work!. Please answer soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never heard of Benadryl cause drug problems, it's not an addictive drug!. If I have problems sleeping I take Benadryl (good for my allergies as well) or an over the counter sleep aid!. I've even given my 11 year old a Benadryl before when he was having problems sleeping!. But if you don't want to take something then find something that helps your body relax like soft music, warm bath, meditation, eat foods that have natural sleep stimulus in it, etc!. Good luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you tried relaxation techniques!? thers one ive tried called holosync, you can get free copies of it from the internet!. its meant to be meditative, but if you listen to it at night in bed, it puts you deep to sleepWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you are tiring yourself out (eveidently u r, starting at 4!.30) and maintaining sleep hygiene , then maybe u need to see a doc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you always been going to bed at 7:30!?

If it is, a doctor can help diagnose and treat the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here are some things that worked for me!.
I changed my bed, my bed was so uncomfortable I bought a new mattress and brand new bed linens!. I made my bed a really comfortable, inviting place to sleep!.
I stopped ALL caffeinated drinks before bed, coffee, sodas, teas, ice tea!.
I went to my doctor and he recommended some exercise early in the day, not near bedtime!.
I tried to focus on the stress that was bothering me by talking to friends and getting things off my chest!. Try a journal before bed, write down all the things that are bothering you and then leave your problems on paper, get em off your chest so to speak!.
Ask your Dr about an herbal remedy!.
I also tried going to bed a bit later, and kept the same time every night!.
I brought in my bed light reading!. This took my mind off things that were bothering me!. Get a cool magazine of a hobby that you enjoy doing and read it at night in bed!.
Dont hang out in your bedroom all day, make your bedroom a place that is JUST for restfull sleep!.
I hope some of these will help, but, just going to the Dr and talking to him/her can also ease your mind!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Honestly you would be better off taking benadryl to fall asleep!. You have a smaller chance of becoming addicted to benadryl, than the sleep aids that are available today!. After a while your body will become accustomed to sleeping/waking at certain times!. The trick is to get into a pattern!. Try going to bed at a certain time, and allow at least one hour to fall asleep!. Wake up at least one hour before you normally would!. That should help you become 'sleepy' earlier than usual!. Good luck to you, and sweet dreams!. :o)Www@Answer-Health@Com
