How do you feel about DNR's can you respect them? Or would you go ahead and !

Question: How do you feel about DNR's can you respect them!? Or would you go ahead and resuscitate!?
Answers:
Oh Boy, You had to go there!. Legally speaking, As a nurse!. DNR's are a contract between the patient and the institution of health!. However, When the patient is in a coma and there is a family member there and they say resuscitate!. You better do it or there could be a law suit!.
I personally am a DNR if only I'm brain dead!. Whats the point in someone playing God with me to gain fame!. If God wants me then so be it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If someone has made the conscious choice to fill out a DNR form, then it should be respected!.
I have a DNR, have made sure that I am counted as a donor and would hope that medical personnel and family would respect my decisions!.
If I should become incapacitated, brain dead, paralyzed (and if you are paralyzed and choose to remain alive, that is your choice), in a deep coma or whatever, I CHOOSE to allow the doctors to take what can be used and let me die with dignity instead of letting me languish in a hospital bed for months or years, possibly suffering, stacking bill upon bill for family to pay!.
I watched my father die of cancer!. It took this wonderful, healthy man down to 107 lbs, no dignity, suffering and a shadow of the man he was!. He had signed a DNR before becoming so ill!. We respected that choice because we did not want him to have to suffer any more than he already had!. There were many times when I sat in his hospital room and wished I could just end his suffering without going to prison for it!. After watching him die a slow, agonizing death, I am also all for euthanasia if the person wants it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if a person does not wanna be resucitated I think you should respect their wishes!. Some people have beliefs and they do not want doctors playing God!. I know if I were to die in an accident and be resucitated and possibley be an invalid for life, i would rather die when destiny or God wanted me to!.
I woud expect my family to respect my wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to respect them!. Especially if you have the document or advance directive in your hand indicating that the person wishes to not be resuscitated!. Remember some advance directives can get pretty specific indicating to stop resuscitation effort after so long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is the way I see it!. It was a for some terminally ill people to die with dignity!.Don't want to be hooked up to machines that will prolong any pain they are in!. I would respect their wishes!. Look at it this way!. How would you feel if you were terminal and there was no hope!. But being hooked up to a machine for the rest of your "unnatural" life!.You want a DNR too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definately respect them - sometimes people are in terrific physical pain and resucitating would only cause them to suffer more for no reason!.

There's a time to just let them go!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
