I have a dull, aching pain in the back of my left knee? Please help!?!

Question: I have a dull, aching pain in the back of my left knee!? Please help!!?
Normally, I'm a really active girl!.!. but just recently as school has let out I stopped running, stretching & exercising in general!.
But several days ago when I was laying down, I began to feel a dull pain in the back of my left knee!. It's not so much painful, just extremely annoying as I can feel it all the time!. What the heck happened!? It's only in the back of my left knee!. Can someone tell me what it may be and what could have caused it!? I haven't exercised at all!.
Also, I tried stretching the leg in several different ways, and the farther I stretched it, the pain increased!. I also tried icing it but that didn't help at all!.
I'm thinking about running again, but do you think this will aggravate my posterior knee!?
Yikes!.!. sorry about all the questions, but I will WHOLLY appreciate anyone who can answer them!. I want to quell my insecurity about this little problem before going to a doctor!.
Also, I'm 16 years old and healthy!. I am not overweight and I run cross country & trackWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Sounds like a small strain, especially when you said the pain increases when stretching, this may sound odd but it might be due to lack of your normal running routine, some muscles can weaken faster than others due to innactivity!. I would try slowly building back up your routine, also wearing a knee support would help - those you can find at any drug store!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I will be glad to answer you and relieve your anxiety!.
It is either 1!. Meniscus ligament, may be a small tear or , 2!. a cyst called bakers cyst which is not dangerous thing either!. Early intervention is the best thing you did!. You will be fine!. Don't run for now since could make it worse if it's a ligament problem, you might be in need of resting the joint!. This is a common thing in athletes, runners, sports, you will be OK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
