Question: Treatment on my ankle!?
hi i fractured my ankle as well as torn ligaments on my left foot about a month ago, ive been in a leg cast for about 4 weeks and have an appointment next week, ( it be 5 weeks on a cast)!.i can seem to put weight on the left foot but not all the time!.
Would anyone out there have any experience or have any information about what happens next!? will i be on another cast!? will they give me treatment and how long will it take for me to be normal again!!! thanks and much obligedWww@Answer-Health@Com

You are going to have more x-rays to see if the fracture line has consolidated (healed) and to what degree!. If there is enough callous formation (new bone growth) you will most likely be placed in a walking cast or limited movement boot!. That will allow you to take some weight on the foot which will help speed the bone growth!. As for the ligaments they are actually more of a problem than the fracture!. They do not heal at the same rate as the fracture!. The ligaments will require some physical therapy to make them more mobile!. But at the moment if they want you non-weight bearing stay off the foot!. You will have plenty of time to work on getting back on the foot soon enough!. It is impossible to state how long this is going to take until the cast comes off and an assessment can be made of the ligamental healing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They will do some kind of test for the ligament!.!. and most likely will put you or leave you in a cast until surgery!.!.

i was in a cast for about 3 months until in healed properly!.!.!.!.they changed my cast every three weeks until it got better!.!.!.!.!.it was also a fracture on my ankle!.!.!.i couldn't put weight on the foot for the first 6 weeks coz it hurt and then after that i had appointments at the hospital where they helped me with walking and therapy for my ankle that kind of stuff!.!.!.!.!.!.nd now its been about a month since my cast is off!.!.!.!.!.the docs tell me i'm healed!.!.!.!.i still hav an appointment left in a week!.!.!.!.nd they'll jus check to see if evrything is ok!.!.!.!.my ankle feels fine!.!.!.!.but sumtimes hurts wen i put too much pressure on it!.!.!.!.!.i hope that helped!.!.!.i dnt no if it is exactly the same to u but might giv u some help!.!.!.!.!.!.good luck!.!.!.!. nd heal sooon!.!.!.!.

Hi, I don't know about the torn ligaments but I fractured both bones in my left ankle about 2 months ago!. had to have plate put in!. Had cast on for 6 weeks, wasn`t allowed to put any weight on it at all!. Cast is off about 2 weeks now, still on crutches!. A lot of pain and swelling but it is getting easier!. hi there, i had the same problem itsep my cast was only up to my knee!. when ihad it on i was treating my leg not broken!.!.!.running around walking normally, dont worry i worried but i didnt need to!. whats the worst that can happen!.!.!.!.being in a cast for the 1 week or so!. they said my cast wasnt needed anymore!. dont worry!!!! just try and think that your leg aint broke!. hope it helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I cant give you the benefit of experiance of fractured ankle but I am a Reiki Practitioner, so I would suggest some extra treatments from else where to compliment whatever the NHS is doing!. That will really speed up any results in getting back to normal or even better than before!Www@Answer-Health@Com
The doctor told you NOT to put weight on it!. These injuries take time to heal!. That's why you have a cast!.
