I hopped a fence today and now my back hurts...?!

Question: I hopped a fence today and now my back hurts!.!.!.!?
so today i went to summer school, and when i was walking home, i figured i would take a shortcut and hop a fence surrounding the school, which makes my trip home 5 minutes shorter!.

i hopped the fence and i landed on the other side OK, (im not good at it lol) i felt nothing, nothing in my back popped or anything!. i felt normal!. so i get home and i sit down on the couch to watch TV!. i decide to get something to drink and i get up and all of a sudden, i feel pain in my lower back!. it got worse until i could barely walk!. my back now feels better, but it hurts to get up and sit down (or lay) and it hurt a bit to walk, and my frame is a bit crooked (im leaning to my left because it hurts to stand straight)

im going to the chiropracter tommorrow, but why was this pain so sudden and howcome i didnt feel it until almost 30 minutes after the damage happened!?

sorry for ranting on so much, but i had to explain for the question to make sense!. thanks for your time!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are leaning to one side you are probably having muscle spasms on that side!. If you run your hand over the area you might feel the muscles actually feeling ropey (cramped up)!.A long very warm shower with pulsating water to the area is great, if not then just let the water run to relax the muscles, soap up and gently rub the area!. Take two advil or what ever anti inflammatory med you have!. Tomorrow you will feel much better I bet!. Try to stand straight after you get the muscles relaxed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have caused severe over-contraction of some of the muscles in your lower back!.

I would recommend getting massage along with the chiropractor work!.

I would also suggest icing (don't heat it) your back for the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you probably shouldn't have hopped that fence-u probably strained a muscle in ur back-take it easy and put a cold or warm pack on it and STOP JUMPING FENCES!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My advice would be to go see a doctor of chiropractic!. (you made a good choice) They specialize in neuromusculoskeletal disorders!. The chiropractor may use manipulation, ultrasound and exercises to release pressure off the nerve!. The medical doctor will give meds such as anti inflammatory drugs!. He or she may suggest getting surgery (if it is more serious), which at times may worsen the problem!. The pain is not immediate because it may be due to a muscular problem!. Muscles are tight when moving and relax when they are not!. If a muscle is damaged it will generally not hurt until its relaxed!. I can't legally tell you to use ice because I am not your doctor but (when my back hurts i put ice to reduce swelling and pain) I leave ice10min on and 20min off!.I hope this helps!. Stay safe and be healthy!

Note: if problem progress is please seek medical help immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
