Hurt My Shoulder Playing Baseball?!

Question: Hurt My Shoulder Playing Baseball!?
So I'm not great at baseball, but anyways

Im warming up in the on-deck circle, when I take an ugly swing, I hear my shoulder pop, and the entire arm goes numb!. It was sore to use for a little bit!. My mother (nurse) was 100% sure it was NOT dislocated!. I gave it about a week off, and after playing a little bit of baseball, throwing hard absolutely kills!. Anyone had this problem before!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are a couple of things that could be going wrong right now with your shoulder!. The most likely thing is a rotator cuff tear or strain!. The rotator cuff is made up of 4 muscles that control your shoulder!. They attach to the humerus (bone of the upper arm) by tendons (tough little bands of tissue)!. The muscles control the movement of your arm and a doctor can usually tell which tendon you hurt by which action hurts!.
With a complete tear of one of the tendons you might not be able to do certain motions!. With a partial tear you could probably do the motions just with pain or not quite as strong as before!.
It sounds like an abrupt onset with a pop so tendonitis is unlikely!. The most likely is the partial or complete tear!. You'll need to not work the shoulder too hard for a few weeks and take some ibuprofen (Advil)or naproxyn (Alleve) for pain!.
Another possibility is an AC tear!. The clavicle (your collarbone) attaches to a part of the shoulder joint!. The connection can tear and cause pain and a pop!. It will usually make certain movements painful and may cause your shoulder to look different on one side!. Unless it is a complete tear, it will heal (but you'll always look like that)!.
My opinion is to go see a family doc, sports medicine doc, or an orthopedist!. Even the school trainer could probably help you out if you have one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you may have popped it out of the socket!. Ice it for 20 minutes only!. And use a towel, don't apply ice directly on the skin!.
Next time, warm up first!. Throw a few easy throws and take a few easy swings!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
