Question: Terrible lower back pain on the right side please help!!?
I have been having AWFUL back pain on the right side for a few days!. I mean it's all day long pain!. I have been taking asprin, Ibprofen, and exedrin back pain medicine and NONE are helping at all!. I have a low grade fever as well and find myself sweating more and getting hotter thoughout the day and I also feel like I'm going to pass out through the day sometimes but I usually sit down and it goes away!. My mother a former nurse thought it may be something with my kidneys but there's nothing wrong with my urine or anything!. My health insurance doesn't kick in until July first and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me their opinions of what this maybe and if it's serious!. P!.S!. I know we can't diagnose anyone on here but I just need some peace of mind until July 1st!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That sounds more like a kidney infection!. You don't have to have anything unusual with your urine!. But the fever, sweating, etc!.!.!.!. are classic signs of a kidney infection and it needs to be treated ASAP or it will get much much worse!. I ignored mine thinking it was just back pain (I have a bad back) until the fever started and I was getting dizzy, etc!.!.!.!. I went to the Dr and was immediately admitted to the hospital!. The infection was in both kidneys!. Go to the ER and don't worry about your insurance as many hospitals have funds set up especially for people without insurance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my wife had kidney stones and would feel the same way!. some days were ok, others it hurt!. they could be as small as sand and moving around, when they get in a bad spot it hurts!. you could be ok for another month, maybe not!. when they finally "hit" her, she was in so much pain she couldn't think straight!. i took her to the er and they gave her some pain meds until they eased off!. within a couple days she went and had them broken up with ultra sound treatments!. drink lots of water,pee often, and stay away from any kind of soda!. good luck and get checked as soon as you canWww@Answer-Health@Com
So are you urinating more frequently than normal!. or feeling like you have to go and not a lot comes out!? I've had bladder infections plenty of times and it actually took a few days until i noticed the frequent urination, and it progressed rapidly and I felt really bad! I felt hot and cold and sweaty!. I was really tired, felt like falling asleep!. I also had lower abdominal inflammation with that and yes, very bad lower back pain!. There could be many causes of lower back pain, but because you have a fever and sweats it definitely sounds like an infection of some kind!. How is your appetite!? Decreased!? You'll probably need to go to a doctor and get checked out!. As a bladder infection can progress into a kidney infection rapidly!. I'm not sure how old you are, and i'm assuming you live in the states!. Here in NZ we have doctors available absolutely free for under 25yos, and if you go to the ER it's always free no matter what age!.

And regarding kidney function, Have you ever had a bad fall and landed on your back!? Kidney problems in family history!? It may pay to get a kidney function test also!.!.!.In the mean time, bed rest and drink lots of water and maybe even try cranberry juice in case its a bladder infection (which it couldve moved up into your kidneys :O)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
