Stomping on a foot is one thing, but placement is everything!. In self defense you are supposed to step on the instep!. The instep is where all those little bones come together to make the toes move!. That is the part that is really supposed to hurt and with enough force can actually injure the tarsals!. This would cause great pain especially if one broke!. This does require a great deal of force, but is supposed to be highly effective with high heels which can possibly separate the little bones in the foot versus a blunt force trauma!.
In an attack from behind, this is suppose to surprise you attacker with pain in the foot, then you elbow to the solar plexus and hopefully break the hold on your neck!. Then run!.
For more advanced students, additional damage can be inflicted to put the attacker on the ground!.
No, I wouldn't step on your foot, but if an attacker did, I would shoot for the instep and show the person that they picked the wrong person to grab!. lol!.!.
