Plantar fasciitis applying heat?!

Question: Plantar fasciitis applying heat!?
I've always been told to ice my feet but I've been reading lately that heat promotes healing when it comes to these kind of injuries!. Would applying heat be a good idea!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not sure about applying heat, however, I have this problem with a spur, and it hurts SO bad so I feel for you! The best treatment I have found is stretching it and wearing shoes at ALL times! Finally mine started to feel better but it took over 6 months! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can try it and and see if that makes your foot feel better, but (as you know) ice is the generally accepted standard treatment for plantar fasciitis, along with NSAIDS (like Aleve or ibuprofen)!.

Heat, in some cases, increases swelling which will increase pain dramatically in your foot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the best treatment for plantar facitis is exersizes which stretch the fascia across the bottom of your foot!.
I have been having difficulty with this same problem for about 2 months now and going out of my head!. I bought some really expensive orthotics for the inside of my shoe and nothing helps like stretches before I walk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
