Yea I get it from time to time!. Its called sleep paralysis!. It can be associated with night terrors or other things!. Its def!. a VERY scary unusual feeling, almost unexplainable!.
Sleep paralysis: A frightening form of paralysis that occurs when a person suddenly finds himself or herself unable to move for a few minutes, most often upon falling asleep or waking up!. Sleep paralysis is due to an ill-timed disconnection between the brain and the body!. Sleep paralysis strikes as a person is moving into or out of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, the deepest part of sleep!. During REM sleep the body is largely disconnected from the brain leaving the body paralyzed!. Sleep paralysis is the result of premature (or persistent) mind-body disconnection as one is about to enter into (or exit from) REM sleep!.

Sleep paralysis occurs most often after jet lag or periods of sleeplessness that interrupt the normal REM patterns!. It affects both sexes equally and occurs at all ages but is most common in teenagers!. Sleep paralysis can be familial and may be genetic (inherited) in some cases!.

An attack of sleep paralysis is usually harmless and self-limited!. It tends to be over in a minute or two as soon as the brain and body re-establish connections and the person is able to move again!. However, the memory of the terrifying sensations felt during sleep paralysis can long endure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's called sleep paralysis and it is a completely normal phase of sleep!.

"Sleep paralysis consists of a period of inability to perform voluntary movements either at sleep onset (called hypnogogic or predormital form) or upon awakening (called hypnopompic or postdormtal form)!.!.!.

[Symptoms are]!.!.!.
- A complaint of inability to move the trunk or limbs at sleep onset or upon awakening
- Presence of brief episodes of partial or complete skeletal muscle paralysis
- Episodes can be associated with hypnagogic hallucinations or dream-like mentation (act or use of the brain)

Sleep paralysis is most often associated with narcolepsy, a neurological condition in which the person has uncontrollable naps!. However, there are many people who experience sleep paralysis without having signs of narcolepsy!. Sometimes it runs in families!. There is no known explanation why some people experience this paralysis!. It is not harmful, although most people report feeling very afraid because they do not know what is happening, and within minutes they gradually or abruptly are able to move again; the episode is often terminated by a sound or a touch on the body!."Www@Answer-Health@Com

That happens to me a lot!. What the cause of this "paralysis" is because your body is extremely tired but your mind is rested!. So when your mind "wakes up" your body is still sleeping!. When your body is extremely tired is usually that your going to sleep late and you cant get to sleep but your mind is at ease!. Try not to take naps during the day cause this can cause you to move around a lot at night and it can cause this sort of "paralysis"!. But ask a doctor for further info ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah i know what you talk, and you know maybe is just nerves, or anxiety, i know is horrible, but the best you can't do is stay down and make a speed movement, but don't try to escape soon for the feeling because, could be worse, and feel like you go to die, go to bed and don't think about bad feeeling, and if this continue, go to a psycologist, like i do, and talk about it!. Good Luck, xoxoWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have a dream book that talked about this!. Theres this thing in your brain that paralyzes your body when you dream so you dont act out your dreams!. If something wakes you up at just the right moment, your brain will keep you in it for a while!. They did a study on people and watched there brain patterns and woke them up when there brain hit the right stage and they experianced the same thing!.

I did the same thing!. What was really bad is it was a scary dream and i tried to scream but nothing would come out and when i tried to jump out of bed i couldnt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when ur sleeping, your body is completely paralyized!. your mind takes over!.
maybe when you wake up, your mind isnt adjusting itself right away!. it takes time!. just like when your in a room full of light then the lights turn off, your eyes need time to adjust so you can see in the dark!. your mind is the same way!.
the sensors in your brain turn themselfs off when you wake up!.
so yea, SEE A DOCTOR!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
