Answers:
I have a pinched nerve in about the same place and go to a pain clinic once a month for that reason as well as severe chronic nerve pain in my lumbar section caused from my LAST 5 failed back surgeries!.!.!.I really feel for you!. all my dr!.has done for me is told me to use cold and heat paks, rotating every 20 min!. or so, and until you can see a dr!.you can use icy hot or they have these trial packs of bio-freeze in his ofc!. now that really helps mine!.!.!.you might want to call your dr or the pharmacist may have it!.if you get it from the pharm!.though it's gonna cost you about 15 bucks, but it's just like those heat pads you can buy only they are frozen with some sort of med!. in the ice to relieve the pain!.If you have any skelaxon, soma, or flexeril ,these are muscle relaxers but believe me if you have any, take one,use the hot and cold packs, try lying on your back with a soft pillow under your head and try to rest as much as possible!. If you don't have access to any of this med!.try ibuprophen, you may have to take several to get any relief but some relief is bettrt than none, right!? If you are this way tomorrow you best get someone to get you to the hospital!.!.!.!.Lord knows I'd hate to see you go thru what I have the past 5 long years, hang in there you;ll feel better real soon, At least I sure hope so !. Good Luck to you sir,,,,Please let me know if you get to feeling better!. VickiWww@Answer-Health@Com

Has he gone to the doctor!? If it is that bad, he probably needs a muscle relaxer or a pain killer!. You can try massaging it, ensure that there is proper support behind the head and gentle stretching!. But he needs to see the doc soon for some relief!.

Edit:

Try Icing it!. Remember, ICE is nice!. Always before Heat!. And you can try alternating the ice and heat!.

He can try 3 ibuprofin every 4-6 hours, IF, he doesn't have stomach problems and can tolerate it!. Ensure that he is not taking any other medication prior to him doing this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Massage it with muscle cream and lay without a pillow it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
