I havent been able to run or play basketball or nuttin!. So 3 weeks later my ankle is ALOT better, it hardly hurts and i can walk on it right, but it still hurts a little!. The inside of my ankle is still kind of like in a ball and a little purple but it doesnt hurt!. and also, the muscle thats on my ankle that goes up my leg hurts also when i try to walk on it straight or run on it!. What can i do to go back to normal, as i was very active and being like this is like hell!? HELP!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You actually want to strengthen the muscles to stabilize the ankle!. Once the ligaments are torn, the joint is weakened, depending on the degree of the tear!. If there is bruising, there is either a break or tear!. Ice it if it's swollen, take anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, aleve!.!.) if you can, and see a physical therapist for an exercise program to stabilize the joint for your specific injury!. You are now at a higher risk of re-injury on that ankle, especially if you don't treat it right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you dislocate a joint you stretch or tear the ligaments that hold the joint together!. Reducing the joint does not repair the damaged soft tissue!. You really need to see a physical therepist for exercises to restrengthen the ligaments or your ankle may dislocate every time it gets put under stress!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
