Kink in the neck what do I do?!


Question: Kink in the neck what do I do!?
this afternoon when i was getting out of bed i turned my head wrong and to fast to the right and my neck crunched!. It instantly felt horrible and I started crying, went into shock and started shaking!. I don't have insurance and havn't since I turned 18 so couldn't go to the ER!. My mom is a nurse so she knew what to do she got me all covered with a blanket and took my blood presure and monitured me!. The pain is at the base of my skull on the left side of my spine and it hurts so bad!. i can move it all the way back and all the way to the right but moving it down or to the left more than and inch hurts so bad!. when you touch it I feel like I'm going to black out and when I try to move it around to work out the kink I feel like I'm going to black out!. Every so often I have been alternating hot and cold and put some menthol pain cream on there and none of it barely does anything for me!. So does anyone have any suggestions for me and how long max do you thinkWww@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing to do apart from going to the doctors is, sit still, then move your neck very slowly to the left till it hurts, stay there for a couple of seconds and try to move it further, then change angles, move your head to the right slowly until it hurts, wait for a couple of seconds then try to move it further, then go back to the other side and keep repeating as often as you can, it sounds like you have strained a neck muscle, the longer you wait the worse the pain will be come, take a couple of paracetamol tablets every four hours for the pain, if you do this around 6 or 7 times a day you will find the pain will ease, if it doesnt, go to a chiropractor, they may be able to help, I would say that the feeling of blacking out is due to the severe pain, just take a deep breath each time you do this exercise, if you are too scared to try it, go see the doctors first to make sure its not something else, hope this helps, goodluck and hope you feel better soon! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try relaxing in really hot bath, just keep adding hot water as it cools!. A wheat bag against your neck or an old fashioned hot water bottle for half an hour or so!.
Any substance that makes you relax will work!.
But it will take time!. You have to wait till the spasming muscles relax!.
Sometimes when my neck goes out I can brace myself against the steering wheel and make it click back in!.
Exercises such as the following help,
Get into an unobstructed corner of a room where two walls meet!. Put both your hands against the wall and brace yourself against each opposing wall, hands at shoulder height and elbows bent!. Push against the wall, lower yourself into the wall then push out again!.
You might not be able to do this for a couple of days because your back is spasming!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
