Can a general practitioner prescribe birth control, or do I need to go to a gyne!

Question: Can a general practitioner prescribe birth control, or do I need to go to a gynecologist!?
I have recently moved to a new city, and haven't set things up with a new doctor yet!. I'm wondering how many appointments I need to make right away!. My birth control prescription is about to run out - do I need to make an appointment with a gynecologist to get this renewed, or can I ask my regular doctor when I go in for a physical!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, Even some midwives depending on the state can prescribe!.

However if you have to have a physical, they will send you to an OBGYN> For them to prescribe, your best bet is to contact planned parent hood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
