I have insomnia, any advice?!

Question: I have insomnia, any advice!?
well im 21 and i rely heavily on sleeping pills to get a somewhat restful night, sometimes i have to take 3 or 4 to finally get some sleep, i will occasionally try to sleep without pills, but that seems to be an impossible task, I will lay in bed for hours trying my hardest to fall asleep, i will usually feel tired as my eyes will start to close, but as soon as i start to drift away, my eyes will snap open and bring me back to reality, this happens all through out the night and i usually give up and stay awake for the rest of the day, i have been awake for three days now trying to make myself crash, but every night seems to be the same, no matter how tired i get and how sh!tty i feel, i still cant sleep!.

any advice that may help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Both me and my partner have suffered form insomnia!.!.!.!.he has a stressful job so that was what was causing it, he went to the doctor but they would not give him sleeping pills due to his age(he's 21) the same went for me as well instead we were given a fact sheet that was of some help, but the things i tried ae as follows:

1/ Aromatherapy well lavender and chammomile oils, i had long hot relaxing baths with a few drops of the oils added, then i massaged myself and my partner with a sleepy type mix!.

2/ warm milky drinks before bed and no coffee or tea or any caffeine after about 6/7pm

3/ We tryed to chat to relax instead of being on the pc or watching a film etc

4/ we tried herbal sleeping pills

5/ the most thing i found that worked was Valerian tablets and he still takes them when he is on earlies to help him sleep

these are the ones we use:

It will take you about 1 month to wean yourself off the sleeping pills!. With the amount you're taking, just don't take anymore!. At first you'll sleep a couple of hours a night, then gradually you'll sleep longer!.

You are just looking for excuses to take the pills!.

Just say to yourself 'so what if I don't sleep' and you will!.

Go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning!. Take a hot lavender bath before bed (it really helps - a few drops of essential lavender oil)!.

Oh, and don't keep any pills around!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the weather permits go outside and exercise!. I get insomnia in the winter when i can't get outside as much from the weather and school!. the fresh air and exercise usually help me sleep more consistently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After a large mug of warm sweatened milk,
Try some boring movies , watch foxnews late night (no you won't do that , way boring) , that always worked for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to get your body into a sleeping pattern again, this is very important!. I have been told that warm apple juice in the evening is very good to help you relax before going to bed!. If you are stressed then try doing some deep breathing to help relax yourself, each night before bed write down on a piece of paper all the things you need or want to do the following day!. this will allow your brain to be content in that you need not be thinking of anything when you are ready for bed!. try reading a book, this is great for lots of people!. The key issue is RELAX before going to bed!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
