Surgery is not always needed with a fractured foot! sometimes, it is just placed in a wrap if it is incomplete fracture!. For this you would wear a "boot" it is a flat hard pad like a really big sandal!. and it lets you walk!.!. walking is good for stimulating bone growth!.
Sometimes it is put in what is called a "posterior mold" (like a cast covering the back half of your foot and ankle) if it is incomplete , but needs some support or complete but well aligned!. For this you would use crutches to get around!.
Surgery is not always cutting open!.!. sometimes they take you to surgery so you can be medicated so they can manipulate the bones and cast it while you are sleeping!. !.!.sometimes just a pin is drilled in to hold bones in position with out any cut more than the pinhole!. Other times yes, a cut is made so a small bar (plate) with holes in in can be screwed on to the broken places!. This is called an ORIF (Open Reduction, Internal Fixation)!. If this was the case for you, you would 99% know by now!.!. usually people needing this repair suffered a trauma that gets them to hospital by ambulance!.!.

It depends how badly you fractured your foot!. If it looks serious, surgery could be a possible option!. Surgery is not the only way to treat a fractured foot!. Talk to your doctor and listen to what he has to say!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
