Question: What should I do for my grandson (12) who has an ear ache till I can get him to a doctor!.!?
His Dad is not home yet, and can not reach (His Dad wrks nights) I gave my Grandson asprin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no more aspirin for children and teens unless specifically told to by a doctor

cover his ear with a warm washcloth as the warmth and humidity will provide temporary relief

sometimes a blow dryer on low fan low heat gentle warmth into the ear helps

earaches are common in children and teens and are rarely life threatening and often time limited

no more aspirin

if you have acetaminophen - Tylenol read the directions and give him tylenol per directions for his age/weight until the doctor

My grandmother used to warm up fresh basil and stick in my ear!. I don't know whether it truely works but I remember it used to make me feel better!.

Don't have any basil!? Try substitute herbs like spearmint!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have a blow dryer put it on low heat and blow it on the ear !. Also you can try peroxide it helps and make sure you put a Cotton ball or tissue in his ear so that the air doesn't get to it !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't give a child (even 12 aspirin)!. Wait until the dose wears off and give him ibuprofen or Advil or Tylenol instead!.

The aspirin won't hurt him but it isn't very safe because of Rye's syndrome!.

Do you have any ear drops!? My mum puts a couple of drops on a cotton wool ball, and presses it into my ear!.

Aspirin is good!.

Cut half an onion into tiny pieces, place it into a handkerchief and put it on the hurting ear!. The evaporating oils should give him some relief!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aspirin or Ibuprofen!.

Place a heating pad or hot water bottle on his ear, it's very soothing!.
