My friend just broke 2 toes over the weekend!. Tape your broken toe to the toe next to it with white surgical tape, and it will help to heal and protect it!. Make sure you wear shoes that are comfortable, yet protective so if you stub your toe, you don't keel over in agony! I know it hurts, but will heal within a week or 2, good luck!!

PS If you go to the doctor, he will do the same thing, there is no splint or anything fancier that will help!. Thank God they heal fast!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hiya, i broke my 3 metatarsal's and when i first did it the swelling was huge and like you propped my foot up in bed and out the side!. What also worked was to keep ice on it too, it really helps with the pain and swelling, and also i had some diclefenic, and codeine to help with the pain!.:-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

there isn't much you can do for a broken toe!. I have experienced it a few times!. To help eliminate some pain, you can buy some athletic tape, and tape the busted toe to one next to it!. On top of that, ice it the first few days and keep it elevated to avoid swelling!. They heal on there own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Broken and fractured are the same thing!. When I worked in the ER, the only thing I ever saw a doctor do was take adhesive tape and tape the broken toe to the one next to it to keep it stable!. Otherwise, there is absolutely nothing that can be done except for to wait for time to go by!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the toe is obviously crooked or 'bent' out of it's normal position, you'll want to see a doctor!.!. they may re-break it or something similar to align it properly!.

If it seems to be in the proper position, it just needs time!. Use ice and elevation to alleviate swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Rest - don't overwork that "little piggy"
Ice - Put ice on it to reduce the swelling
Compression - Keep it wrapped in an ace bandage (they may have special bandages for the toes!.)
Elevation - keep it above waist level as often as you can!.

Ibuprofen will also help with the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I broke my little toe once when I was in high school!. My parents took me to the ER and the doctor injected the toe with some kind of local anesthetic, then stuck a red pen between that toe and the next toe, reset the bone, and taped that toe to the one next to it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I actually don't think they do much for a toe!.!.!.maybe put on a splint!. Nevertheless, I would not let a broken toe go without a doctor's visit!. Find a good orthopedic doctor and go see him!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you really just need to go to the doctor!. years back my sister did something similar and broke hers she never went to the doctor and her toe healed wrong now she has a crocked toe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Really, you have done all there is to do!. There may be a toe splint or something of the like at Walgreens, etc!.!.!.!.!.!.other than that, you will have to wait for it to heal itself!. Sorry for your pain though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ice, if its swelling take some like ibprofin to reduce swelling!.
keep it elevated
theres not much you can do for a broken toe, just be carefulWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think anything can be done for a broken toe other than ice it to take down any swelling!. Fractured toes really hurt and will turn black and blue!. Time will heal it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tape your toe to the one beside it!. there's really not much you can do for a broken toe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

put cotton balls between your toesWww@Answer-Health@Com

I call it "jamming the toe" and I have a bad habit of doing this frequently!. Some occasions have resulted in a broken toe, though even a doctor will not have much to do for you (been there, done that several times: "Yes, the toe is broken, but not much we can do!.") I was always instructed to use medical tape and keep the affected toe (usually the pinky toe) taped to the toe next to it for stabilization for a few weeks!. Feet can take what seems like FOREVER to heal because we're on them all the time and they don't get much chance to just rest!. Ice packing is the recommended therapy for a injury like this but only for the first 24 hours, after that, I think moist heat is better, though ice-ppacking for a few minutes once or twice a day might relieve some pain and swelling!. You can take OTC anti-inflammatories (Advil, Aleve) also for pain and swelling!. Stay off it as much as possible!. I literally jam a toe at least once a month (bad balance and coordination) and have broken my toe about 3 times!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
