Question: Should I play!?!?!?
I play on a highly rated traveling softball team!. I am 17!. I am a pitcher, and last week I hurt my knee sliding into home!. We have a big game coming up, that I need to pitch!. Is it worth pitching or sitting out and giving my knee time to recover!?!? I haven't been to the doc yet, but have been limping around all week!! I don't know what to do!. I don't want to go to the doctor because I am afraid that he will tell me I hurt it bad, and need surgery!. I hurt it sliding into home!. I slide into home, and got tangled with the catcher, and my knee bent under me, and she fell on my leg!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You really should see an orthopedic doctor before you play!. If you did some serious damage to the knee then you could risk further damage if you play!. At least by seeing the doctor you will find out the extent of damage and be able to make a more educated decision on whether to play!. It may be minor and all you have to do is play through pain for this one game and then rest, or it may not be!. At age 17 you dont want to mess up your knee for the rest of your life I would think!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
go to the doctor NOW if you don't go soon you might find out that it was serious and never be able to play any more!. If you don't want to go to the doctor get a knee brace from a local store and ware it when you play your game after that you really should go to the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You should still go to the doctor!. You might not be able to play, but if you find out you did hurt it bad, you can be somewhat proud of yourself for going to the doctor before it got worse!. Good luck with your knee!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
