Question: Does Percocet make you itch!?
Ever since I started taking this Percocet I started itching all over!. My stomach, my chest, my arms!.!.!.is this normal!? It's not really bad, just annoying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it's compounded with codeine and that's the real culprit!. Codeine itchies are the reason a lot of doctors will prescribe an antihistimine like Benadryl at the same time!. You can call and ask the doctor about it!. You can also soak in a nice warm tub with a handful of oatmeal, baking soda or Aveeno- which can help soothe the skin!. I had knee surgery on June4,2008 and was given percocet, was prescribed to take 1-2 every 4-6hr as needed for pain, so I took 2 and then another 2, because after surgery you don't want the pain to kick in!. After the second dose of percocet I was itching, and called the pharmacy and the doctor, both told me that it was a reaction to the med and to discontinue, then was put on Lorcet 10mg, so yes they can make you itch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yeah, most strong pain killers will do this to you!. It's called pruritus!. It's a very common side effect of oxycodones like Percocet!. I would tell your doctor that you're experiencing it!. He'll probably prescribe you something milder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
