It was explained to me in massage therapy training that the synovial fluid (fluid in 'sacs' that surround your joints) is temporarily vacuumed out when your joints are stretched or pulled beyond normal range!. What you're hearing is the fluid being vacuumed out and collapsing quickly!.

There is no scientific evidence that arthritis is caused by doing this continuously!. However, if you continue to crack your fingers, it is said that your tendons enlarge (like muscles build when exercising) - which causes your hands and fingers to appear larger!. And because your fingers get bigger, you will eventually notice a decrease in mobility!.

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

actually you can!. the sound that your joints make when you make them pop is caused by both bones cracking out of their normal positions!. Such forced movements cause the surfaces to peel off eventually!. Of course this process takes quite a while (let's say 30 years or more) and some people have a very good resistance on their joints and will never develop arthritis!.

But just to be safe!.!.!. try to stop doing it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
