Question: Accident Aftereffects!?
So last night some moron rear ended me while driving!. I am okay although I have a badly sore neck right now!. I am wondering, how long do you think my sore neck will last AND is there another treatment for it besides taking Advil to ease the neck pain!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drew I am so sorry my friend!. It takes about a week to 2 weeks to feel better!. Ibuprofen and Advil are anti inflammatory it takes the swelling down and reduces the pain!.
I would put heat on Your neck and back and try not to do any stressful movements!. You will get headaches unfortunately and possible back pain and spasms!. Gosh I just feel for you!.
Get some rest and please take care!. If your pain get worse go to your Dr they can give you muscle relaxers to help!.

For the first 72 hours alternate ice and moist heat and then just ice after that!. The easiest way to do the moist heat is to stand under a hot shower but you can get a heating pad or wrap a damp, hot towel in a plastic bag!. Apply heat for around 15 minutes and then ice the area!. Rest for an hour or two and do it again!. To ice, you can use an ice pack or do an ice massage!. Fill a paper or styrofoam cup with water and freeze it!. Tear away the top so that only ice is exposed and rub it in circular motions around the painful area!.You can put the cup back in the freezer and continue tearing it down as the ice melts!.
It can be sore for some time, up to a month, if it lasts longer or you start getting muscle spasms you might want to see a doctor ,physical therapist or chiropractor!. If the pain is very bad or you suspect this is more than the normal whiplash pains go ahead and see a doctor!. If you later find you're injured his insurance company may try to deny the claim because you weren't seen right away!. Been there done that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At least a couple of weeks!.!. Sorry this happened to you!. Maybe some warm soaks to the neck or ice!.!. i forget which one you are suppose to use!. Maybe you should see the dock and get his advise!.!.!.You might of injured your spinal chord in this mishap!.!. cant be too careful when it comes to your spine!.
