i am supposed to get mine out next month but have already visited the dentist who is taking them out and has run through everything with me!.
it depends if you are getting shots or if you will be put to sleep!. everyone is different!. i chose to be put to sleep because i am getting all 4 removed and they are impacted under the gum!. and i hate needles and dont want to hear and see what goes on!.
but anyway!. the teeth will be removed!. sometimes they will have to break the tooth in order to get it out!. afterwards you will be in pain!. most likely your jaw will swell!. and you will be put on a liquid diet for a few days (some people are on a liquid diet longer it just depends on the case) the swelling should go down within 2 days to a week depending!. you will have stitches in you gum!. you have to be very careful not to suck on straws or anything afterwards so you dont get "dry socket" which isnt good!. in about a week the stitches should dissolve and you will be back to normal!.
there are very few cases when things go wrong such as dry socket or nerve damage but it is possible!.
just relax!. if you will be awake during the procedure you might want to bring your ipod or cd player so you dont hear what is going on if you dont want to and to keep your mind of things!. good luck it will be fine :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had mine taken out in the military!. Mine were a special case, "impacted" and required oral surgery!. I'm not sure what "under normal circumstances" would feel like, but here is my experience!.

It started with 14 shots of Novocaine which was very pain full until my mouth got numb!. After that I didn't feel any pain!. I was awake during the whole thing, but my face and eyes were covered!. I felt only slight pressure, and couldn't tell when the teeth were extracted!. I expected to feel a sudden release when the tooth came out, but it felt more like the dentist stopped to get a better grip and "try again"!.

After the procedure was finished I got what is called "dry sockets", which is another word for extreme mouth pain!. I went back to the dentist and they soaked a cloth in clove oil and inserted it into the holes where my teeth used to be!. This burned for about 10 minutes, then provided relief for the rest of the day!.

Meals were provided through a "straw" for several days, while the "holes" were filling up with new gum tissue!. After that I had to rinse the holes with warm water using a giant syringe until they were completely healed!.

I went to a professional extractionist to have 3 taken out and it only took a couple of hours!. I got some gas and then a shot in the arm of sodium brevetol!. they had me on some monitors too!. they asked me to count backwards from 100, I got to about 95 and then I was waking up in recovery!.I could eat later , about 4 hours later! Minimal pain, easily tolerated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got all 4 of mine out at once, they put me under anesthesia!. I remember like a dream of him taking the bottom two out!. I felt them rip out and I woke up, not entirely out of anesthesia, but enough to scream!. By this time the waiting room had filled up with people and my mom was there and heard me scream the two times!. It's amusing to think what those people were thinking sitting there waiting for their appointment!. I was on pain medication for 2 and a half weeks, I could only eat liquid type of foods for the first week, like yogurt and pudding, it was painful but I've had worse!. I also got a discount on my bill since it's rare that someone wakes up like that!. My jaws also swelled up like I had the mumps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
