Severe Back Pain Cause?!

Question: Severe Back Pain Cause!?
About 3 years ago i was diagnosed with 1 herniated disc, and one partially herniated disc in my lower spine!. They also told me i had degenerative disc disease!. One of the discs occasionally is pushing on a nerve causing extreme pain from sciatica!. I was 17, now I'm 20!.

I would like to know how it is that my back degenerated so badly in the course of 17 years, and how i could possibly have a disease they said only middle-aged people get!.

I am overweight, but my doctors said they don't see how that could have caused the severe problems i have!. I weigh about 316lbs, and I'm about 5ft 10in, i have actually lost around 40 lbs, i used to be up around 360lbs, but my back pain is still very bad!. I am 20 years old, and do not do strenuous activities, and never have!. I'm on Tramadol mostly for my back pain, with the occasional Vicodin when it gets bad!. I also take Ativan for free floating anxiety disorder!.

Ok!.!.!.I was diagnoised with degenetetive dic disease at 17!.!.that was 37 yrs ago!. I back in the dark ages was put in bed for a YEAR at 17 to 18 then surgery!! Recouperating time over a yr and a half!. Accupunture worked thank God!.!.!.
I was in traction which was a girdle type gismo with a 10lb weight on it attached to a pully atthe end ogf my bed!. The weight was attached to the back of the bottom of the girdle to supposedly pull the pressure off my spine!. One yr of this and being on Valium every 4 hrs for months!. They had no idwa what to do!. So I was a guiena pig!. The FDA had not approved this procedure at this time!. They injected me with a drug called (Chymopapain is injected directly into a herniated ("slipped'') disk in the spine to dissolve part of the disk and relieve the pain and other problems caused by the disk pressing on a nerve!. Before you receive chymopapain, you will be given an anesthetic (either a general anesthetic to put you to sleep or a local anesthetic)!.

Very rarely, use of chymopapain may cause serious side effects, including paralysis of the legs or death!. Another dangerous side effect of chymopapain injection is a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis!. This side effect occurs in less than 1% of the patients receiving the medicine, but it occurs more often in women than in men!. Before receiving chymopapain, you should discuss its use, and the possibility of anaphylaxis or other serious side effects, with your doctor!.

Chymopapain injections are given only in a hospital, usually in an operating room, by your surgeon!.)

This disolved the 2 last discs in my back!. But prior to that at the age of 12,13,14,15 I had my hips literally nailed together the first 2 yrs and the next 2 yrs were removing the pins from the hip!. For 4 yrs I was on crutches 6 months on and 6 months off!. I had no teen years at all!.
I am allergic to all opiate meds!.!.which 99!.9% all meds are opiated based!. I suffer daily with stenosis, degeneritive disc disease (cause it doesn't stop, you know),arthritis, bone spurs(3) in my neck blugging disc(3) in my back!.!.AND I busted both bursitas sacks on my butt bones which now leave my siatica and hamstrings in constant pain and hamstrings that contract!.!.!.plus I just found out I am allergic to wheat!. Do you know wheat is in about 95% of everything we eat and drink!./!.no fast food or eating out anymore!.!.I lost 51lbs but food is boring now!.!.
Severe headaches that last a week!.!.
Weight loss !.!.you know the heavier I was even gaining 85lbs with my first!.!.I never had any pain!.

So sweetpea there are alot of people allot worse than us both!.!.
Please feel blessed that you have 2 legs to walk even in pain!.!.2 arms to hold someone, ears to hear someone say that love you!. Eyes to see the good of the world!.!.and a heart to help others who need comforting!.

Have you had an epideral yet!? That deadens the pain!.!.Epidural injection is the administration of medication into the epidural space!. It is used to treat swelling, pain, and inflammation associated with neurological conditions that affect nerve roots, such as a herniated disk and radiculopathy!.

ask your Dr!.!.!.

Life sucks honey and as you MUST make the best of what God has given you!. It could have been worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry for being so blunt buddy, but it is all due to overweight!. You need to loose weight buddy!. Keep loosing it, after u have had lost enough it will start getting better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you misheard or misunderstood the doctors!. Your weight has either caused or is aggravating your back condition, in my opinion!. Look at it this way: your spine is like a fishing pole: you can't put too much weight on the pole, or the line will break, right!?

One way to find out is to take off more weight and see if that helps!. Or you could continue to live on meds and eventually get surgery!. Your choice!.

Frankly, I'd try weight loss: go to www!.weightwatchers!.com and find a meeting!. It will be difficult and take a long time, but I think you'll find that it works for you!.

You can also try seeing a chiropractor, but I don't know if they would work on a case like yours!. However, I have found it helps for sciatic pain!.

FWIW, I sympathize with you!. You're crippled by pain, you have little quality of life, and you can't move!. I hope you take more action to figure this out: you should get a second opinion or see other doctors!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
