Question: 2 year old has extreme ear ache pain tylenol and ibprofen not working!?
my 2 yr old is screaming in pain from ear infection she keeps saying hurts hurts! no otc is working inclusing ear drops from dr she is on day to of antobiotics!.I have herd of tylenol W/codine is that med safe for a two yr old should i ask her pedi for somthing stronger than otc!.(she has been up all night screaming)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can ask for something stronger for pain, or switch back & forth between tylenol & motrin!. Also, try to get her to let you put a heating pad on her ear; the heat may help soothe it!. If all else fails, take her to the ER!. If her ear's hurting that bad, maybe the dr that prescribed the antibiotics missed something!.

As a parent myself, I would call her pediatrician right away!.!.!.this is an emergency if she screaming that much hon! Otherwise, you can take her to the emergency room or an urgent care facility!. My niece had this happen to her at around 3 yrs old, and it was more serious than my sister first thought (she lost part of her hearing)!. Please don't wait around with this!. it sounds like she has an ear infection!. She needs to physically see the doctor and the doctor will put her on the right meds and you can ask the doctor for an ENT referral!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
