Ritalin and Tiredness, Nightmares, HELP!?!

Question: Ritalin and Tiredness, Nightmares, HELP!!?
My doctor put me back on Ritalin, (was on it before 40mg twice a day, but then got preg and stopped it)
I am now 16 weeks pregnant and have been taking about 5mg a day!. the first day was great, but I took it at night and only got 2 hours of sleep that night!. 2nd and 3rd day were okay, but i didnt have as much energy ; i took one last night and was up till 12am and woke up at 3!. I know I need to stop taking them late in the day like that so this morning I took it at 6 am!. and went back to sleep for about an hr!. now I am really tired, i dont know if its from the Ritalin , or lack of sleep!.
I notice that if I DONT take it I have really weird dreams, and that is one of the reasons I started taking it at night, I don't go into a really deep sleep, this cant be good though because I am not sleeping as much and feel totally drained!. Should I just stop it for a few days!? I am scared to goto sleep because some of my dreams seem real until I awake and its freaky!. any advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Keep this in mind, you are pregnant and your horomones are going burserck! You may sleep more or less due to the pregnancy alone!. You may want to consult the obgyn as well as the Psych that prescribed the Ritilan and make a comparison or sign release forms so they can talk to each other!. Also, if you do not reach REM sleep you will be more tired, pregnant or not!. You need that deep sleep, though being pregnant you may not get it, lol!. You have another major concern!.!.!.your babies health!. Whatever you intake, affects the baby as well!. I would sign the release forms and have each doctor communicate with each to determine what is best for you!.
Good luck and blessed be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know the nightmares suck, but it is far worst for you to not sleep!. Lack of sleep causes imbalances in bodily processes, and with the baby, this could be seriously detrimental!. I'm not sure why the doctor would prescribe Ritalin while you are pregnant anyway, any medicine will get into your child's blood stream!. Whatever you decide, be sure you keep you baby in mind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
