Getting a good nights sleep.......?!


Question: Getting a good nights sleep!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
I am 15!. I can't ever fall asleep!. When i do fall asleep its light and i hear everything!. I've tried not eating things and warm drinks before bed but nothing works!. I was complaining to my boy friend about this and he said that when he broke his leg and couldn't work-out he didn't sleep good, i tore my MCL and now i can't do anything, could that have something to do with it!? Also, when i can't sleep should i get out of bed, or should i read, watch TV!? What do you do!? Any help appreciated!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had this problem as well!.look up feng shui, which is organizing your room in a way to create a peaceful and balanced energy in your room with placement and colour!. also drinking warm mmilk before bed!. reading before bed helps some people!. also play classical music in the background or any other "soothing" CD at a low volume while you sleep, this will keep out other noises!. keeping a daily schedule should help as well, eating a tthe same time and getting up/going to bed at the same time every day and night will help your body to adjust to that sleeping time!. staying active during the day will contribute to a good nights sleep!. make sure you don't do any activites or studying or exersice in the area that you sleep in keep it a sleeping area only! and be sure that there is no clutter around your bed or anywhere in you room!. if your room has lots of clutter and disorganization it will not be as restful!. If you can't sleep then yes you can get up, but don't do anything to "wild" =P just watch tv eat a light snack, do some things around the house and when you feel sleepy again try to go back to bed!. i reccomend doing some research on it!. there's lots of tips on the net and in books ^_^

Have you tried meditation or relaxation techniques or CD's!. What I sometimes do when I've not slept for 3 days I use them, a soothing voice guides you through breathing and helps you to get sleepy, you must use headphones thought to get full benefit!. I got some of them on my ipod and it helped!. Good luck as it sucks not getting much sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you get anough exercise in the day!? I find if I don't do alot in the day I cannt sleep at all during the night!. So I try and get atleast 2-3 hours a day just walking, running etc!. It doesn;t help to eat alot before bed either, I just eat a light snack before bed and I'm out for the count!.
Just get lots of fresh air and keep yourself active!.!. although it might be tricky since you tore your MCL!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had the same problem what i did was make a docters appointment and uses sleeping pills just till you see the doc, however dont let your self hooked on them as it could make it worse just use them a couple of nights to get a good nights rest, you never no you could be slightly stressed thats setting off yuor sleeping problem!?
