The symptoms you describe are common, that is a side effect of all pain medication (not an allergy)!. I would try to eat a little something, oatmeal, rice, banana, bread, crackers, etc!.!.!. Wait 30 minutes and if you feel ok, try taking 1/2 of the pill, and if you keep that down, take the other 1/2!. Sip fluids every few minutes, Gatorade would be a good one, or water!. That will help replace lost fluid you have vomited!. Also if you have something in your stomach, even water, it is a little easier on your body to vomit, if it happens again!. (I vomited about 8 times a day for about 5-6 weeks when I was first pregnant, so I think I qualify as someone who knows a thing or two about it)!. I hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Remember this for the future!. I too can not take vicodin - even on a Full stomach!. It is like taking a stomach virus in a capsule to me!. The only way it helps me with my pain is because I forget about my original pain cause I'm too busy vomiting for a long time!. Eating saltine crackers is the only thing that will help you for now, they will absorb the toxins and stomach acids that flow abundantly!. Percocett will probably do the same thing to you - make you sicker than before you took it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have developed an allergy to the codeine!. Try to push some fluids because dehydration will make you nauseated too!. You shouldn't still be having such a severe reaction 16 hours later!. You may have a stomach virus !.

If you still don't feel better by tomorrow, consult a physician!. Do NOT take anymore vicodin!. If you need something for pain, go to your local emergency room, explain your symptoms, tell them about the vicodin and they will give you a shot or another pain medication along with something for the nausea!.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!.

I had the same reaction the day after I had surgery!. I ended up so sick that I had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance!. They had to give me iv fluids because I was so dehydrated and then 3 different kinds of anti-nausea medication!. They also prescribed me percocett because that is actually easier on your stomach!. you do need to make sure that you are drinking plenty because as another answer said dehydration will cause severe nausea too!. If you aren't able to drink water and hold it down you need to at least call your doctor as dehydration can happen rather quickly!. I hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most people can NOT take this on an empty stomach because they will get the same symtoms that you describe--nausea, vomiting!.

No way will I take a Vicodin if I have not eaten anything!. Try to eat a bowl of oatmeal, cereal or rice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You got the 7!.5mg hydrocodone and your reaction is cause for concern!. In the future you should tell the physician you don't react well to Vicodin and request Tylenol with codeine instead!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
