The state Senate passed a bill yesterday to legalize purchase of hypodermic needles over the counter, setting up a battle with Governor Mitt Romney, who has said he opposes the legislation!.

New Jersey and Delaware are the only other states where over-the-counter sales are illegal

It's a state law thing!. Not living in Mass I don't know what their law is but in some states you need and script and in some you don't!. If one pharmacy wouldn't sell them to you chances are you won't be able to get them anyplace without a prescription from your doc!.
We used to have to use a written script for my husband's insulin syringes and were surprised when we moved to AZ and no longer needed one, we buy 500 at a time!.
If you haven't tried to buy them and been turned away, the easiest way to find out is go to or call a pharmacy and ask if you need a script!.
EDIT
I see that hecla found the info for you as I was typing!. Good news!. It's ridiculous to force illegal drug users to re use syringes, pasing AIDs around like it's the cold!. Good for you Mass!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know MA law, but in IL you can buy up to 20 insulin syringes without a prescription!. You don't need any id!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
