How can I treat tissue damage from popping knuckles?!

Question: How can I treat tissue damage from popping knuckles!?
Well I was never aware that popping my knuckles caused tissue damage and grip strength loss until I did a report on it the beginning of my freshman year!. Since then I began to become pretty causious about popping them!. It was kind of an old habbit though!. So anyways, I tried to stop and now I rarely ever catch myself doing it!. It never happens anymore!. However, just because I stopped doing it doesn't mean the pain went away!. In fact, before I quit doing it, there were three knuckles that I couldn't even pop anymore!. Every time I tried it hurt horribly bad!. I don'tdo it anymore but those knuckles still hurt pretty horribly!. What can I do!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Popping or cracking your knuckles doesn't cause tissue damage, joint swelling or deformties!.

That said, it's good you stopped doing it!. Sounds like you may have a bit of arthritis in the joints or that you may have displaced the joints at one time!. It's hard to say!.

For starters you can take some Tylenol or Motrin for the pain!. Go easy on your hands but do with them with a stress ball or hand grip!.

If the pain doesn't subside in a few weeks, see a physician to make sure nothing serious is going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
