Osgood Schlatters Disease ... Help?!


Question: Osgood Schlatters Disease !.!.!. Help!?
I have had Osgood Schlatters disease in both my knees for 2 years(This Summer) and I'm still restricted from running and sports for a period of time!.
I have given it months rest a number of times and then began excercising, but it still flared up!. Is there any treatment for it, or techniques/excercises out that could help me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My son has suffered from this as well!. He takes Advil or Motrin for the pain and ices the area when it's bad!. He still played sports though!. He wore heel cups when he played soccer!. That helped a lot! He put them in his sneakers too for cross country!.

You can get them in any sporting good store!. Just make sure you keep them in good shape and replace if you're running a lot!.

One thing he was told not to do was stretch any more than normal before playing!. The pain comes from the tendons and muscles stretching due to the growth spurts!. You don't need to stretch more than normal, which was our first reaction!.

Other than those tips, I'd say wait it out!. Once you stop growing so fast, the pain will subside!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
