Question: What is a good remedy for shin splints!?
Answers:
Shin splints come from the muscles pulling on the lining of a bone in this case the Tibia!. To correct this problem there are a few things to do before heading to therapy!. One if your shoes are more than a few months old replace them!. Ice the area for fifteen to twenty minutes post stretching!. Stretch then by sitting on the heels and lifting one knee up as high as it will go!. Do this ten times and then the other leg!. As for strengthening the muscle stand on a 2x4 or large book with your heels on the board and the front of the feet on the floor!. Raise the front of your foot ten times as high as possible!. Do the other foot next!. In a long sitting position or sitting place one foot on top of the other and lift the bottom foot up into the top foot but do not allow any motion to occur!. Do that ten times and switch feet!. This will help build up Tibialis Anterior and that should do the problem!. If the problem is too advanced for this then see a physical therapist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
