Treatment for minor facial burns?!

Question: Treatment for minor facial burns!?
I work with a guy that just had a "flash explosion" at his house yesterday while he was grilling!. Apparently, something happened with the propane tank he was working with, and the side of his face is all red, and it looks like it might get a bit of puss later on!.

I reccomended some topical antibiotic, but wasn't sure if he had to go with some sort of bandage over the patch of face!? We work in a semi-dirty environment, and I was curious if that would be an issue!?

Also!.!.!. how would you apply such a bandage!? it's a rather large burn, half the distance from his chin, to his ear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Victims with burns to the following areas need emergency medical assistance:
face
hands
feet
genitalia

In this case, you must!.!.!. unless you already have, then you have been given instructions on what to do!.

Treating other burns is done by:

Stopping the burning process!. Cool the burned area with cool running water for several minutes!.

Look for blistering, sloughing, or charred (blackened) skin!.

Blistering or sloughing (skin coming off) means the top layer of skin is completely damaged and complications are likely!. Charring indicates even deeper damage to all three layers of skin (see illustration)!.

Mild burns with reddened skin and no blisters may be treated with a topical burn ointment or spray to reduce pain!.

Cool water (not cold or warm) may also help with pain!.

DO NOT APPLY BUTTER OR OIL TO ANY BURN!

Over the counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be used for the pain of a mild burn (typically redness only)!. If stronger pain relief is needed, contact a physician or go to the emergency department!.

of course, applying a bandage will vary upon the burn!. I do not know what to tell you because I do not want you to do it improperly and cause further harm or a wrongful healing to the injured person!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would recommend keeping the burn moist at night with some type of ointment and during the day, due to his working conditions, I would apply a non-stick dressing on the burn to keep it clean, especially if there are blisters!. The non-stick dressing will be very soft and will not get caught in hair, etc!.!. (unlike gauze) around it there will be a sticky part to make it stay on the skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try some xlacane, it nums the skinWww@Answer-Health@Com
