Why is it not a good idea to sleep on a full stomach?!

Question: Why is it not a good idea to sleep on a full stomach!?
Answers:
Whoa!.!.!.!.your body shuts down after 5 pm!. Geez, The myths the American public believes!.

As for not going to bed on a full stomach!.!.!.

Your body has this thing called a Basal Metabolic Rate!. Its the number of calories you burn while pretty much just sitting still, but not sleeping!. To get your caloric needs, you would need to multiply by an activity factor!. Anyway, your Basal Metabolic Rate drops when you sleep!. Your body falls into a rhythm and the caloric needs decrease within the body!.

From an intestinal standpoint, just think in terms of simple gravity!. Normally after you eat, you are either standing up or sitting upright and gravity is used as an aid to help digest your food!. Once you lie down, gravity is no longer helping you and some digested food (mixed with stomach acids) may flow back up to lower esophageal sphincter (what allows food to pass from your esophagus to your stomach)!. Since this is a very acidic mixture, it can cause damage and possibly erosion of the sphincter and heartburn if done repeatedly!.

You're probably not going to sleep as well either because your body is consumed with the task of digesting!.

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because you are not burning off anything from what you just ate!. Not only could it cause a stomach ache, but it also makes you gain weight, since you're not active!. It's best to eat dinner (or whatever) about 3 - 4 hours before going to sleep!. That way you can burn off some of that calories and carbs that you've just eaten!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I could only imagine that when your body shuts down for the night your stomach is not digesting and taking the food away as it would when your awake!. plus where is all that energy going to go !? your like totally inactive while you sleep and your body requires little energy to tick over!.

some also say it gives you nightmares !? or is that just cheese !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

God i hope its not fatty chips from Dinos or Marios!. HUH!!!! LOL!. You will not digest your food properly and might get indigestion!. Your supposed ot eat at a certain time at night and allow yourself time for the food to go down!. But i think its ok if its fruit or a light food!. Not sweets, crisps, chips flake yogurts (oh i would die for one of them Lals and Kals and Mo!. Hamza wouldnt remember them eh!?!? I dont think he ever had one)!. lol, and also you may get fat too, if you eat at night with the stomach not being able to digest it, so take it easy!. Here listen!!!!!!!! What about a bag of cheese and onion crisps and a glass of rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!. cola hahahha!. Leila i am gonna need to go to the loo cant stop laughing thinking of nana with her c and o crisps and her wee nip at night eh!?!? Love youxxxxxxxxxxWww@Answer-Health@Com
