Your finger is probably swollen because the ring was to tight to begin with!. I wouldn't try taking it off until morning when the swelling may have went down some, that is if it isn't really bothering you!. You can wrap your finger with dental floss or thread, from the first knuckle up to and as far beneath the ring as you can get it!. Leave it work for a while and see if it will come off!. If not, try using vegetable cooking oil, hot soap and water, Vaseline, honey, anything slippery!. Before doing any of this, try elevating the hand to let some of the fluid buildup drain back toward your hand!. If all this fails, you'll no doubt have to have it cut off!. I hope not for your sake young lady!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here at the hospital we usually use a lubricant of some sort!. Vaseline, greasy lotion, etc!.!.!.!. Depending on the cause of the swelling sometimes slight compression (holding the finger in your other hand) can get the swelling down enough to get a ring off!. Other wise elevate the hand that's swollen for awhile, ice should help, if the finger is not in danger of circulation being cut off an antiinflammatory could help in a few hours (advil)!. Be patient if your finger is not in danger, if its turning purple or your capillary refill is slowed go to the ER or minor ER and they'll be able to cut the ring off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I saw on TV that dental floss wrung through your ring on your fingers will do the trick, try googling dental floss removing ring and you will come up with something like the one below:

"Remove tight ring from finger : Wrap waxed dental floss from the tip of your finger until you reach the ring!. Slide the ring over the waxed floss and you will be able to remove it easily"

I have not tried this yet, but when I saw it done on TV it looks easy enough!.

Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The more you play with it, the more it is going to swell!. If you think it is cutting off circulation to your finger, try cutting it off!. If you can't, go to a hospital, I would suggest!. If it's not cutting off circulation, wait until the morning so that some of the swelling can go down!. Try sleeping with your hand on a couple pillows so it is above your heart and will decrease in swelling!. Unless the ring is dear to you, try cutting it off in the morning, when it will be easier to do since your finger won't be as swollen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Happens to me when I have had to much salt or it is hot outside!. Let it be for about 30 minutes, then soak your hand in ice water for several minutes to get the swelling down!. A little oil and it will slide right off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try KY Jelly, Cooking Oil, anything that is very slippery!. Sometimes even soap will work!. If that does not work it will have to be cut off!. Try pliers, but carefully!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what caused ur finger to swell!? i would've said use ice to reduce swelling and then soap but since u already used it i guess cutting the ring would be the other option!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
