Pain at the tip of my tailbone. Should I get it checked out?!
Question: Pain at the tip of my tailbone!. Should I get it checked out!?
I have kind of hypochondriatic tendencies, so I'm asking here so I don't have to bother a doctor about it if it's no big deal!.
When I'm sitting and the tip of my tailbone touches the seat I get a sharp pain and I have to move to sit differently!. Also, if I touch the same point, it feels like I have a small lump, and it hurts a lot if touched!. It also feels very uncomfortable for a few minutes afterward if touched directly!. It's been happening for like a year, but I kept writing it off as something temporary!.
Should I be worried or get it checked out!? Or is it just my mind getting carried away!?
Also, any ideas what this could be!?
By the way, I've fallen hard on my tailbone two or three times in my life, in case that makes any difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES! You have to go see an orthopedic very soon, because when you fell on your tailbone you may have broken or fractured it!. I fractured my tailbone a few years ago when I used to figure skate and people tried to tell me that it was just bruised!. A few weeks later, they took an ex-ray and saw that it was fractured!. It still hurts when I sit on it directly for long periods of time, but because it was only fractured and in such an inconvenient location they couldn't fix it or anything!.
