This may be caused by sciatic nerve trauma http://www!.gonstead!.co!.uk/Back-Pain/scia!.!.!. The image shows it on one side, but it's on both sides of your body!.

Sciatic nerve trauma does not show up on x-rays!. If it's caused by a compressed vertebrae, that might be on your x-ray, but since your x-ray was clear, you may want to look at other causes!.

Sometimes the piriformis muscle http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/danthechiro!.!.!. is involved in sciatica!. This is called piriformis syndrome http://www!.ninds!.nih!.gov/disorders/pirif!.!.!. and is usually treated with stretching exercises like these http://www!.spine-health!.com/wellness/exe!.!.!.

If you think one of your legs is shorter than the other, you may want to see an orthopedist (bone doctor)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds to me like it could be sciatica!.

The most common symptom from sciatica is pain!. Most people describe a deep, severe pain that starts low on one side of the back and then shoots down the buttock and the leg with certain movements!.

The pain is usually worse with both prolonged sitting and standing!. Some people describe the worst pain when trying to stand from a low sitting position, such as standing up after sitting on a toilet seat!.

In most people, the pain is made worse by sneezing, coughing, laughing, or a hard bowel movement!. Bending backward can also make the pain worse!.

You may also notice a weakness in your leg or foot, along with the pain!. The weakness may become so bad you can't move your foot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had a sharp pain in my back, hip, and leg too for about 5 years now!. I went to a chiropractor and he adjusted me and gave me some streches to do every morning and when I have the pain!. They seem to be working, because I don't have the pain nearly as much as I used to!. He also told me that one of my legs was slightly shorter (not noticable) than the other, which could be causing the pain!. I would try a chiropractor first (much cheaper) and if that doesn't help, then get a MRI!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

An x-ray can't always see nerves and muscles!. This sounds to me like a pinched nerve or a slipped disk in your spine!. It creates the pain in your back which leads downward!. Sometimes you may feel numbness in your toes, or simply like your hip is out of place!. Seeing a chiropractor may be a better idea, and if they say they can't do anything, I'd head to a surgeon, because that's pretty much the only way to get it fixed!. Try muscle relaxers, but dont' get hooked!. I've had some organic ones that work magic!. Good luck with that though!. =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, without much more info, if it's not an injury visible to an xray, there are loads of other possibilities!.

One such possibility is the sciatic nerve!. It'll come and go, make your life miserable!. Can get so bad that it requires morphine to make life bearable!. Other cases it's just an annoyance!.

Sounds like it could be Sciatica!.

This is a major pain of a pain, cause there is little that can be done!. I have it, and am a runner (along with other sports)!. I have to put an ice pack on my lower back when it comes up, and that stops it!.

Some people find relief with Chiropractors, but I didn't get anything out of that!.

Everyone is different!.

Sounds like it could be sciatica, do you have trouble walking at all!? Any limping!? Does the pain feel like it starts in your lower back and then go down your leg!? X-Rays would not show Sciatica or any other pinched nerve you might have!. I would try to get an MRI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If X-rays don't show anything, get an MRI That should clear up doubts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd get a second opinion!. Maybe an MRI but they are expensive!. Something has to be wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a pinched nerve to me!.!.!. Have you considered a chiropractor!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
