Answers:
All doctors care about their patients, patients are their absolute first priority!. It may be you feel neglected by your doctor as their education would have been vastly different to the modern approach doctors have been taught in the recent years!.

Previously, doctors were very much placed on a pedestal above the patient, handing down prescriptions and diagnosing without much patient input!. They want to heal their patients as all doctors do but may not have the interpersonal skills newer doctors have been taught!.

Of course as you get older, im sure the medical system begins to grind you down!. You start out a fresh faced twenty-something doctor out to save the world one patient at a time, but after a few years, politics, mismanagement, budgets, targets and paperwork start eroding away at you, stopping you from doing your job!. It's very fustrating!. After 30 years of working horrific hours, with hardly any time off for leisure or family, i dont blame a lot of older doctors for feeling a bit bored and fustrated with the medical community!. They probably do just want to get the job over with, get their paycheck and spend some time cruising in their jag- heck i would want to!

It's not fair it impacts on the patients, but it's not all older doctors!. Only the ones that have had the harder ride through life or who are naturally like that anyway, and probably were like that throughout their careers!. You'll even see some younger doctors with this attitude, everyone's an individual i guess!. Money is a big motivator to become a doctor, though in the UK at least a lot of these people will be wheedled out during the selection process into university!.

Waffled a bit sorry, but i hope at any rate i dont become an old grissled miserable doctor treating patients like cattle rather than as individuals!.,Www@Answer-Health@Com

I thought that too when my dad was terminally ill!. However, you can't generalize it!. My dad had two doctors, both over the age of 65 and his oncologist was so caring while his fill in would constantly tell us he would pass within that week (he lived for a few more months)!. He hardly looked at us, gave us attitude, and took the credit for finding the infection when my dad's primary oncologist (the nice one) had run tests on my dad!.

Anyways, a lot of doctors have been in the game forever!. Some still do it and love what they do!. Others just learn how to disconnect themselves from patients so they don't get emotionally attached!. And some just really do it for money, they're used to being around many sick people and are just not sympathetic anymore!. But it's not true for ALL "old" doctors!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, but I do think the changing nature of healthcare makes it hard to stay focused on the patient!. That said, everyone goes through ups and downs!. Over the course of a lifetime, some times family, kids, their own health, finances, lawsuits (justified or not) I mean, no one is ON the ball 24/7 like we expect doctors to be, not even the guy with his finger on the Big Red Button!. We just deal with doctors more!. I thought at one time that my vet seemed not to really care about the symptoms in my elderly cat, and didn't go back for a while!. When I did, there was a new vet -turns out, he was dying of cancer!. So you never know!. We expect them to put us and our healthcare first, but we rarely think of them as people!. Except maybe to envy their income!. I don't know!. I've seen the hoops they make them jump through for the privilege, too!. I wouldn't do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I'd think that if the patient was OLD as you state, then I'd think the doctors are more apt to say they can't help them cause there OLD and thats just life!.!.
Older doctors sometimes I believe have the most experince but I'd also have to say it depends on the situation and the doctor!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

All doctors want your money!. I find that old doctor's have
more experience and more knowledge!. They have
received this over the years!.

There are some doctors, young and old!. who do not
care about their patients!.
