Painful knee... what could've caused it?!

a year ago i was leaning my right leg to the left while keeping both legs straight and i could feel some pressure on my right knee joint on the side closest to my left leg (sorry, it's really hard to explain, tell me if you don't understand and i'll try to rephrase it)!. i ended up falling over to the side i was leaning (my left), and as i did, there was a very loud crack and pretty intense pain from the same point on my knee!.

the next morning my knee was a bit swollen and hurt a little to walk on, and since then it starts hurting on and off!. sometimes it hurts more if i sit with both my legs folded to the right so that the same point is being stretched!.

does anyone have any idea of what i've done!? it's not constant, but when it does start hurting i might get a tiny limp!.!.!. but it still won't be very severe!.

oh and!.!.!. don't worry how this actually happened :) i wasn't just being stupid and seeing what would happen, i'm not like that!. it's just kind of complicated!.
