One week ago today I broke my fibula!. I went back for more xray's yesterday and the doc said the bone had not moved so I am to come back in next week again to check!. Well, today I got out of the car and landed on it funny and now the pain is almost unbearable!. Should I call my doc or just wait until my appointment next week!? It's almost a tightening sensation that makes my toes want to curl!. Very odd and I wasn't feeling it before!. I'm taking vicadin but it's not helping at all! Any advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Take yourself back to ER or casualty straight away!. You may have displaced the bone!. If this is the case it will not heal correctly, or quickly!. You need to be x-rayed, and probably re-aligned and plaster cast replaced!. If you don't go you will only have more pain, and problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well if you are walking on it you are causing your own pain!.

Sit, keep it up on a foot stool and put ice packs on it several times a day!.

Make sure to only allow yourself 1 to 1 1/2 Vicodin every 4 hours!. No more!.

8 years ago I broke my fibula falling down stairs and chipped off both ankle bones!. It caused my foot to drop as if it was not attached!.
After surgery and 3 months in a wheel chair 2 months on crutches and 15 therapy sessions, I could finally walk on it again, but it was not 100 % till about 6 months!.

The Ibuprofen and icing is key for the pain!. It will take a while to recover!.

Ibuprofen will help with the pain of inflammation and swelling!.

Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
