Why do some people panic during an emergency and others don't?!

Question: Why do some people panic during an emergency and others don't!?
My son hit his nose on the trampoline yesterday and started screaming in pain!. My husband and I ran outside and the first thing I saw was his arm twisted underneath his body and a huge area of blood on his shoulder!. I immediately thought he had a major serious injury and was wondering if I should grab my cell phone to call 911!. Turns out he bumped his nose with his knee and the blood was from his nose!. His arm was just fine!. Well, apparently I was freaking out and practically running around in circles!. Afterwards my husband told me sternly that I should not panic and remain calm so I don't scare the kids!. Perfectly good advice, and I agreed wholeheartedly, but the problem is during a scary moment like that I feel like I have no control over my actions!. It happens so fast! I'm on auto-pilot and it feels a little like an out of body experience!. Why does this happen and is there a way to change your instinct to panic!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
some people just act that way all the time!. look at your reactions to other events, such as fights, work, basic living!. do you see a pattern of over reacting!? do others see a trend while you might not!?

also the fact that he is your son!.!.!.!.thoes over reactive motherly instincts kick in, if i were to classify thoes reactions i would say its like a motherly adrenaline!.!.!.

it all goes down to Type A and type B personalities!.!.!.some are A and some are B, you sound like a A to me

next time somthing like this happens, try to re take control and do the following
1!. assess the sit, whos hurt, whats around to be hurt from!.
2!. figure out the injury, were is the pain, is there a certin place being held!?
3!. is there obvious signs of a major injury!?
4!. is the person really freaking out over somthing minor, is there a way to calm them!?

it didnt help your actions by the way he was acting, if he was freaking out, it can rub off on you and cause you to over react!.!.!.

when i get hurt, im usually very calm about it!.!.!.i rolled my car twice, got out and called the police, insurance, and my mom and let them know what happened, told my mom to stay calm cause i know she overreacts really badly!. talked to her in a calm voice and led her to were i was!.!.!.!.the way i acted, being the hurt one, helped her to think calmly and act accordingly!.

so talk to your son about trying to stay calm when these things happen, it will help you tooWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sadly, the only real way to be cool in an emergency is to have experience in emergency situations!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
