oh my gosh those hurt!. No it wont hurt yourself to wrap them it actually helps with the pain but it doesn't cure it!. The best thing to do is slowly do some stretches!. Start walking on your heels around the house for a while!. It will hurt at first because you are stretching out muscles that are sore!. i suggest you walk on your heels for about a straight 5 minutes then do different stretches to stretch out the muscles!. (like rolling your ankles in a circle) then after you are all done relax on the couch and get some ice on them!. it will relax the pain and you will fell a lot better!. keep the ice on for as long as you want, or until the pain is somewhat gone!. i hope i helped
P!.S!.-the pain will not go away in one day, repeat everyday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Shin splints are caused when the connective tissue that attaches your muscles to that bone pulling away or tearing!. The best thing you could do is - rest, ice, and elevate the leg!. And not run for a bit until you can do so comfortably!. Sports tape may help while you have to be up walking around, but running will just continue to aggrivate the situation even more!. You should be able to walk, so you can keep up with some exercise, but running is not a good idea at the moment!. While you are on the rest part, you need to inspect your running shoes!. Usually that is the major cause of the problem, running in worn out shoes or shoes that are not providing enough cushion for your foot strike!. It can also be caused by the way you strike the ground as well!. If you run flatfooted, the foot takes a pounding on the strike which is transmitted up the leg!. Running on pavement is also hard on the legs as well!. If you visit a sports shop, somebody there should be able to evaluate your feet and get the shoe most appropriate for you to run in!. And if it continues to be a problem, then you need to see a sports medicine doctor or a podiatrist to have things looked at closer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Taping your shins will not do any harm, it will just help with pain so you can continue to do the activity!. The only real way to get rid of shin splints is to take it easy and let them go away!. To tape them get pre wrap or you can use a ace bandage and then use 1 1/2 inch tape!. You want to pull the tape tight across the front going lateral to medial (outside to inside) and being loose on the back (calf)!. Also get shoes with better arch support or get inserts for your shoes!. You may also want to get your arches taped!. Arch support will definitely help shin splints!. Be sure to ice 15-20 min after activity (using an ice cup may be better as you can give your self a massage while icing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not believe you should run with them!. I would certainly want to discuss this with my family doctor first!. It could casue major damage!. Good luck, hope it heals soonWww@Answer-Health@Com
