Kidney stones - How much do they hurt to pee?!

Question: Kidney stones - How much do they hurt to pee!?
Five days ago, I woke up feeling like I had a horrible muscle cramp in my lower back and after an hour of waiting for it to subside, went to the E!.R!. where I was diagnosed with having three kidney stones - one about 1mm, one between 2 and 3 mm (which was the one I was currently passing), and another 5mm!.

A few days later, the urologist informed me that after seeing the CAT scan, he saw that it was 2/3 of the way to the bladder!.

Now this morning I've just gotten over four hours of agony, which started similar to the first morning but intensified until I was just writhing around on my mattress with no way to escape the pain!. Finally, the lights just went out and I woke up two hours later being virtually pain-free!.

I suspect I'm near the end of it and that might have been the last push into the bladder!. My question is this - how much does the peeing of it hurt by comparison to the passage through the ureter!? My urologist told me the urination wouldn't hurt at all, but I don't know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The pain should not be a bad as the stones passing through the ureter!. However, if you had an STD test, the pain is as uncomfortable as the giant Q-tip going through the tip of your penis when getting a sample!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only one I ever passed wasabout 4mm and I can tell you it really hurt!. The Drs!. who tell you that it doen's hurt have obviously never had to pass one!. I went thru two childbirths, and they didn't compare to the kidney stones!.Urination does hurt as well!. I think my back pain was so bad that I didn't really realize how bad the other was!. Hope your better soonWww@Answer-Health@Com
