Question: How do i know if I jammed my finger or broke it!?
Yesterday, at my basketball game i got hit dead on the tip of my ring finger and theres a ring of bruising around my finger!. It reallly hurts to bend and squeeze!. I am pretty sure it's just jammed, but how do i know without going to the dr!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is the ring of bruising around the knuckle joint!? If it is, it's probably broken especially since it hurts to bend or squeeze!. I don't know if you were playing basketball as a school activity- if it was, when you go to the ER or doc let him know this and the school will be responsible to pay!. You will need a hand x-ray which will tell where you broke your finger- if it is fractured- if the fracture is "aligned" which would mean they will just splint it and let it heal!.!.!.if it's not aligned they will have to manipulate your finger, possibly under a sedative!.!.!.you don't say your age but if you are 18 or younger, if the fracture is in the "growth plate" which is the end of every joint in your body, you can jeopardize the continued growth of that finger!.!.!.your growth is usually complete by 18!.!.!.!.unless you don't care about a possible deformed finger which may not be totally functional once it heals, you better go to the ER or doctor!.!.!.I suggest ER because they can immediately do the x-ray and start your treatment immediately!.!.!.!.!.good luck!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
