Question: Should I go to the ER or wait to see the Dr on Monday!?
I saw my Dr on Thursday for another UTI!. She gave me Macrobid and I am taking it just like it I am suppose to!. Today, my lower back is still hurting and now I am having pain in my lower left side near my groin!. Should I go to the ER and maybe get stronger antibiotics or should I just wait till Monday!? I'm not running fever but I am in pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi! I'm sorry you're getting these repeated UTI's!. I used to get those all the time!. Are you under stress!? That will usually trigger it!. Your dr!. might be on-call so you could call his office # and see if they will let you talk to her/him!. My family has a history of these!. Many of us have a small pocket in the bladder that never fully empties so it sits there in perfect condition to breed bacteria!. Then when any stress comes along - BOOM! UTI!. Some of us are on constant low dose of a medication to keep the bacteria down!. Sounds like your kidneys are affected now which is not good!. It's soooo painful!. I'm sorry!. I'll pray for you!. If it's not better tomorrow and you can't contact your dr!. I would advise you to visit the ER again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
When did you begin the antibiotics on Thursday!? Sounds like it may have been evening or at least afternoon!. They might need a little more time!.
Try your trusted pain reliever (whatever that may be) and if that does not control the pain adequately, reconsider the ER!.
If you DO get different meds, it will most likely be a different antibiotic rather than a stronger one!. Some antibiotics work for some bacteria but not others!.
Why are you getting recurrent UTI'S!? Women get them much more frequently than men because of the structure of their anatomy, but they should not be a constant part of your life!.
Ask your MD, or a Nurse about steps to reduce frequency!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you been taking your Macrobid as prescribed!? It sounds like you have a kidney infection!. If you are only having pain I would probably wait until Monday to see your doctor but if the pain becomes severe or you start to run a fever I would go to the ER to be checked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the pain is bad then go to the ER!. They can give you something stronger and something for the pain!. They will also be able to check to make sure its a UTI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
