Help me understanding insurance coverage.?!

Question: Help me understanding insurance coverage!.!?
I got a referral from my Primary physican to a local MRI!. Before I make an appointment, I confirmed with them that they are in my network and they accept my insurance!. Today, I have noticed that my insurance rejected the claim for $2500 saying that the Doctor who actually reviewed my MRI results is not in my network!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Was the MRI approved by your insurance before it was done!?
Your doctor may be able to help get post approval, your insurance should pay for the actual Mri but they probably have you about the doctor who read it
2500 sounds high for reading a test check around and find out if that's normal
Call some MRI places and ask what that fee should be, if it's lower call the actual doctor who read the test and protest,Www@Answer-Health@Com

terry sounds mostly right - it's been a long time since i worked that part of insurance, but i know for sure 2500 is excessive for reading the MRI - i would contact your local TV or newspaper "trouble shooter" - those ripoff artists HATE exposureWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well "technically" you are responsible for your own coverage not your referring doctor!. It helps to get a consult first sometimes so you can get a predetermination from the doctor doing the procedure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
