Question: How do I heal a fractured ankle!?
My mom fell down and her ankle is soweln!. I was on web md and it said it probally is an ankle fracture!. I have to take care of her!. What Should I do beside elevate it and put ice on it!. She already took a motrinWww@Answer-Health@Com

okay, you have done well!. if she wont go to the hospital or let you call anyone, maybe you could go to a neighbour for help!?
remember, as everyone has said, you cant heal it, she needs x-rays and if it in fact is fractured, it needs a cast, or strapping!. only qualified doctors and nurses will know how to do it properly, and doing it yourself could cause more damage than good!. make sure she doesnt walk, keeps it elevated and keeps that ice on it!. and call a hospital as soon as you possibly canWww@Answer-Health@Com

Take her to the emergency room immediately!. An ankle fracture that is not set and put into a cast will NOT heal properly, and if it is a sprain, that can be even worse!. You are right for what you did so far, but the NEXT STEP is to take your mom to the emergency room to have that ankle checked!. YOU can NOT do anything to heal a fracture or a sprain, the doctor needs to see to that for her, and you can help by taking her there (call a cab or a friend with a car if you are not old enough to drive with a license or permit (your mom must be a licensed driver if you have a permit, even if you live in a place with a 'curfew' for students, since this is a 'medical emergency' !.!.!. but TAKE HER TONIGHT!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, you're doing everything right so far!. But, if you feel that it may be broken, she needs to get a set of xrays!. Although you may think that her ankle is fractured, it may very well be her fibula (which is the leg bone on the lateral side)!. Maintaining elevation is key to stop swelling!. Get her down to an ER asap though!. there may be some underlying tissue injuries!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
First of all your not a doctor and there is no way to know what is going on inside if she doenst get xrays done!.She needs soem xrays and needs to get a cast or some kind of brace that will give he stability until it heals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
